Silver Lake Preserve
For a premier hunting experience check out Silver Lake Preserve, 2860 Silver Lake Road NW · LaBelle, FL 33935. Glades County’s premier guided hunt facility is tucked away within 1876 acres of the Lykes Bros. Inc. ranch in Muse in gloriously natural Glades County. Silver Lake offers a variety of hunting experiences for the discerning sportsman or woman, many of which come with overnight lodging, breakfast and/or dinner at the Lodge on site.
- Alligator hunting season, featuring spot and stalk hunting, opens toward the end of February. The Preserve prides itself on only hunting trophy gators with the majority of the gators harvested over 10 feet. One night’s lodging and meals are included in the price of the gator hunt.
- Quail hunting opens in April with expanded quail hunting areas, allowing the preserve to work in more hunts while preserving the feeling of exclusivity for hunters. While they usually have availability for two hunters, larger groups or guests who would like a specific date should book well in advance.
- The Preserve is taking reservations for the 2021 Osceola Gobbler Season. Turkey hunts start with check-in Friday evening, hunting Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning for those who are not successful harvesting a bird over the weekend. All meals, lodging and your guide are included.
Like many a working ranch in Florida’s Heartland, Silver Lake Preserve has an abundance of wild hogs, and offers a two-person hog hunt special for $900 that includes an afternoon hunt, overnight at the lodge and a morning hunt, which includes meals.
